New Team Member: Meet Jake!
Despite the current situation with COVID-19, No79 welcomed a new team member last week! Jake has joined the team to further our Digital Marketing Expertise and has already got stuck straight into multiple projects.
Hi Jake, what are your favourite film and your favourite food?
Hi! Favourite film is a tough one – I’m more of a TV series or book guy. If I HAD to pick a favourite movie, I’d say Star Wars: A New Hope. That movie blew my mind when I first saw it as a child, and all I wanted to be was an X-Wing pilot.
For what it’s worth, my favourite TV series is Breaking Bad, and my favourite book is either “On The Road” by Jack Kerouac or “Cat’s Cradle” by Kurt Vonnegut.
Favourite food is a lot easier – Mexican! I’m no purist either, anything Mexican-inspired is good with me.
What made you want to join No79?
I think the most significant factor was that No79 is a small agency with a personal touch that’s producing great work and making waves in the industry. The fact that we’re a Coleraine (my hometown) based agency is a bonus too – meaning that I can spend more time with family and more time on the beach!
Describe your background in Marketing for us
I began my career as a self-taught web developer building websites for the small companies and passion projects of my friends. I quickly realised that, while I loved coding, there was a lot more to a great website than just the code and decided to branch out and learn more about marketing.
This led to me landing a marketing job in-house with a telecoms company in Manchester. As part of a small marketing team of two people, we were responsible for all of the marketing for the main business plus its two sister companies. We did everything from internal document design to email & social media marketing, and everything in-between!
And how have you found your first week?
Great! It’s a nice change of pace from my previous in-house role. We have many plates spinning simultaneously here, and it’s great to get involved with such a vibrant and dynamic agency.
What are you most looking forward to working on at No79?
I’m really looking forward to working with a like-minded team of people passionate about design, marketing, and delivering the best results they can for our clients. Self-improvement is massive for me – I love to learn, so I’m looking forward to learning from a fantastic team and building upon my existing skills.
