Understanding the method behind Paid Ads
Paid Ads, whether it’s Social Media Paid Ads or Google Ads both, at their core, follow the same basic funnel process. We commonly see this referred to as a Funnel. This normally consists of three stages: Top of the Funnel (TOFU), Middle of Funnel (MOFU) and Bottom of Funnel (BOFU)
Awareness and Discovery – TOFU
The first stage of the Paid Ads process is raising awareness of the brand, product or service. At this point, there are multiple touch points we use to establish how interested our audience is.
Consideration and Learning – MOFU
Now the audience know who you are and what you do, we use Paid Ads to encourage them to consider becoming a customer or follower of your brand. Through our tailored ads we encourage them to directly engage with you via all platforms including your website or social pages.
Conversion and Action – BOFU
Once users have engaged with the desired point of interest we analyse the interest levels of these potential customers. We look for indicators of who is most likely to become a customer.
We then use Paid Ads to target these people with conversion driving language. We use points of contact such as Lead Generation Forms, Products in eCommerce or other Contact methods.
Paid Ads in a Nutshell
That’s a basic run-through of the typical process you would expect to see in a Digital Marketing Campaign using Social Media Paid Ads or Google Ads.
It can seem as simple, but within this Funnel, there can be many layers of Campaigns, Ad Sets and individual Ads. These combined with objectives, targeting and creative options making it a multi-faceted process.
